Goeienavond allemaal,
~~~~
Good evening everyone,
Het eerste waar ik het nu even over wil hebben, is de uitdaging 'Winkelen in eigen kast' waar ik me vol enthousiasme voor aangemeld heb, niet wetende, dat ik de reiskolder in mijn kop zou krijgen en dit jaar, tijdens die uitdaging, naar Australië hoop te gaan. Hoe, o hoe, kom ik dan aan die prachtige Aboriginal stoffen, die ik daar voor een alleraardigste prijs kan kopen? Ik weet een winkel in Perth en Fremantle, waar ik ze drie jaar terug gekocht heb..... maar ik mag nu vanwege de uitdaging niks kopen!
Conny, help me uit de brand, geef me duidelijkheid en liever nog dispensatie, wil je?
Ik zou het misschien ook zo kunnen regelen, dat ik die stofjes cadeau krijg....
First thing I'd like to talk about with you is the wonderful challenge 'Shopping from your own closet', which I took part in enthousiastically, not knowing yet what I know now: that my personal goal for 2012 is to go to Australia in September - October; that's in 'challenge-time'...
And how, o how, can I lay my hand (only the left one, the right one is challenged) on those beautiful, fantastic, affordable Aboriginal fabrics I bought three years ago and I know where I can buy them in Perth and Fremantle.... but I am not allowed to buy a single scrap!
Conny, please, can you help me find a way to 'get round' the rules of the challenge?
Or I'd make a deal with my friends overthere, offering me the fabrics as a 'present'...
Een andere uitdaging betreft de vingeroefeningen, die ik sinds vanmiddag met mijn hand in een spalk kan gaan doen, om de buiging zoetjesaan te oefenen in rust. Beginnen met drie keer daags vijf minuten, op te voeren tot over een dag of zes drie keer een half uur bereikt is. Het doel is: drie keer daags een half uur, of twee keer daags een uur. Zo ziet de spalk eruit, die vanmiddag in Groningen voor mij gemaakt is:
The other thing I'd like to mention, is my challenged hand, which got a brace made this afternoon, to excercise increasing flexion of my challenged middle finger.
Daily excercise, three times, building up from five minutes a time to half an hour.
This is what the brace looks like. It was made for me today in Groningen:
Een leren lusje om de vinger, dat via een draadje, door een oogje op de spalk met een elastiekje is verbonden, dat op zijn beurt wordt vastgezet onderaan de spalk, ook weer om een haakje. Zo wordt dus als het ware de vinger in een buiging getrokken. Ze vinden wat uit!
Ik vind het wel knap en geweldig hoor, wat er allemaal mogelijk is. Stel je toch eens voor: zou ik straks weer een naald kunnen hanteren? Ik ga keurig en hard oefenen.
~~~~~
A little leather loop round the finger, attached to an elastic band by a nylon thread, the elastic band is stretched to the rear end of the brace, where it's fixed to a little hook. That's how the finger is pulled into flexion and how training that will hopefully lead to supple finger function. Can you imagine me sewing and stitching again? Wouldn't that be wonderful?
I 'm gonna work very hard on it!

Een fijne avond nog verder en tot gauw maar weer.
Groetjes!

Have a nice evening, or day, or sweet dreams.
Cheers!
